The blade edge on this Kakuri Japanese chisel is sharp high-carbon steel (Yellow #2) and is laminated with softer steel for durability and ease of maintenance.
The layered construction of the two steels increases blade durability and improves sharpening ease. The back of the blade is hollow ground for excellent sharpness.
